Nain (also Nein, Naim, Na'in, Naein, Naeen) is close to the western edge of the great desert Dasht-e-Kavir, in central Iran. Carpets from the city have an excellent reputation and are very popular. Patterns with a medallion in the middle together with arabesques and floral motifs are common, as is the blue and cream colour combinations. Silk is often used as high-lighting for detail in the design.
