This is a classic Persian rug from the city of Kashan. Traditional in every way in design & colours. Elegant central medallion with long teardrops is placed on a beautiful red ground covered by scattered floral sprays. Typical large floral corners complete the central panel. This large rug is framed by a ‘palmette’ border which is guarded by four foliate guards. The knotting of Kerman rugs is very regular and neat & they are often dyed of natural materials.
