Shiraz rugs are simple VIntage Persian carpets made of wool from the region.  They are a nomadic production whose rug knotting tradition goes back a long way.  The city is located in the province of Fars near the famous ruins of Persopolis.  The style is small medallions & geometric figures scattered across the rug.  Rich colours of red, blue, etc are dominant in Shiraz rugs.
